Injection and Compression Moulding from AAVF

Thermoset plastic components for the switch gear industryUsing the latest 3D design and modelling software, AAVF moulds numerous types of plastic for the automotive, aerospace, electrical insulation and medical industries, where high precision and consistency of standard is required. Our knowledge of thermoplastic, phenolic resin and thermoset moulding processes is a key to our success.

For our thermosetting materials, we process epoxy resins and dough moulding compounds, by compression and direct screw transfer. AAVF also specialises in the moulding-in of metal tags and inserts

With a highly developed capability in the moulding of engineering plastics, AAVF is the largest moulder of PEEK in the UK, and works closely with customers, fine-tuning materials to meet the stringent demands of safety-critical applications in the medical, automotive and aerospace markets.

We control production costs by focusing attention on the design and manufacture of high quality, cost effective tooling and strict process control.

AAVF's 3D CAD Design and Modelling Capability, including Moldflow™

With our state-of-the-art 3D design and modelling software tools, we can accept drawings by email or conventional mail (e.g. on CD), enabling us to

  • Download complex drawings in the majority of CAD formats
  • Design assembly components and easily incorporate changes to the specification
  • Construct production-ready detailed drawings
  • Evaluate the manufacturing feasibility of your design
  • Determine the optimal part thickness
  • Identify and eliminate cosmetic issues (e.g. sink marks)
  • Estimate the impact of design/material changes on part cost
  • Provide, in rapid time, quotations to our customers, based on their submitted 3D designs

In summary, we combine our engineering skills with the most up-to-date technology to give our customers the very best in product design commensurate with price and quality.
